Picture 1  

The viewers attention is drawn to the farmhouse that is divided in half. There is a crack in the ground splitting the house and on the right portion there is a huge pair of scissors which are not proportionate to the house and the people inside. This creates a sense of false reality throughout the picture. There is also a dreary tone as the background is a dark grey sky. There is a girl inside the house looking down at the destruction within the midground of the house which is separated by the divide. The photo has vivid dark colors.  

Picture 2 

 There is a guy in a canoe in the water which leads to a series of pieces of glass located in the foreground to manipulate the look of water. I thought this was very creative and it looks realistic. On the shore you can tell its glass but it still blends nicely with the concept which the viewers attention is focused on. In the background of the picture there is a bright sky which create a light tone to the picture. The person is looking out with their head turned to the left like he discovered something. The photo has an adventurous feel  

Picture 3 

In the foreground of the photo there is a guy who appears to have his fist going into his skull. This could represent a punching bag which creates a visual interest that grabs peoples attention. There is a plain, basic background which might be for directing peoples attention to the guy so he is the center of focus only. This photo makes me feel a sense of anger and unresolved issues. That is my personal opinion to the meaning behind the photo, however it could be interpreted differently. The guy has a striped shirt on, blonde hair, and a normal coloration but not too vivid.  

Picture 4  

In the foreground of this picture there is a sense of depth as the pathway drops suddenly downwards. In the background at the sides there is a vivid green color of grass surrounding the path. The viewers attention is focused on a guy in the midground looking down upon the drop with his bike behind him. Starting from the upper left position there is a fence running along the side of the path. This photo makes me feel a sense of adventure and fear as the person looks down on the drop.  

 Picture 5 

The viewers attention is focused on the foreground of a guy partly inside a painting. There is a sense of realism and irony as the upper half of the guys body is in the painting. He is “painting himself” which can be interpreted in more of a literal sense. The usage of color is very vivid with different shades of blue. In the background there appears to be a lake or a river. In the left position of the painting there is a box full of different colors of paint the guy is using. The photo creates a sense of being calm and creative.  

Practice 6 

In the foreground of the picture the viewers attention is focused on a pair of boots with a guy inside the left boot. He is in the left portion of the photo and appears to be holding onto the shoe laces like they are reins. There is a use of vivid color in the background as there is a pretty sunset. This photo creates a sense off adventure and fearlessness. The photographer could mainly use this picture to draw people in with possible elements of childhood stories or characters. Since there is a guy inside a shoe this could relate to the childhood story with the old lady who lives in a shoe. 

Picture 7 

The viewers attention is directed towards two doors. One in the left and one in the right position. There is a guy in robe and what appears to be a glass of water in his left hand walking towards the right door. There is a usage of bright yellow light from the doors in contrast to the very dark gloomy background. This photo creates a sense of discovery and imagination. People could think of their childhood and their curiosity. The man in the picture could represent his past curiosity from his childhood being brought out in an event in the present. The photographer did a great job of capturing the wonder and curiosity that others can relate to.
